This Privacy Policy explains how Related Education (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use the Related Education - Learners mobile application and the QuantumSkills learning platform (collectively, the “Service”). The app is intended for enrolled learners of accredited training programmes.
Information we collect
- Account information: your name, email address, and (optionally) phone number. We use this to create and secure your account and to identify you to your facilitator and training provider.
- Learning content you submit: answers to activities, and evidence files (photos) you choose to capture with your camera or select from your photo library to attach to assessment activities. This content is sent to our servers so it can be reviewed and graded by your assessor or facilitator.
- Course progress: which activities you have started, submitted, or completed, and the marks awarded.
- Authentication tokens: stored securely on your device’s encrypted keystore to keep you signed in.
We do not collect your location, we do not use advertising identifiers, and we do not include third-party advertising or analytics tracking SDKs in the app.
Device permissions
- Camera — requested only when you choose to capture a photo as evidence for an activity.
- Photos / media — requested only when you choose to attach an existing photo as evidence.
These permissions are requested at the moment you use the feature. Photos are uploaded only when you explicitly attach them to an activity.
How we use your information
- To provide the learning platform and deliver your course content.
- To enable assessment, grading, and feedback by your facilitator or assessor.
- To maintain records of competence required by accreditation bodies.
- To secure your account and prevent unauthorised access.
Sharing of information
Your information is shared only with your training provider and the facilitators, assessors, and moderators responsible for your programme, and with regulatory or accreditation bodies where required for certification. We do not sell your personal information. We use trusted infrastructure providers to host the Service; they process data on our behalf under appropriate safeguards.
Data retention
We retain assessment records and evidence for as long as required by the relevant accreditation body and applicable law, after which they are deleted or anonymised.
Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, subject to record-keeping obligations imposed by accreditation bodies. Contact us using the details below to make a request.
Children
The Service is intended for enrolled learners. We do not knowingly collect information from children outside the context of a registered training enrolment.
